The show is good. it talks about the struggles and the lives of the women who were betrayed by their first husbands. It has a lot of value and reflects a true story not only in Korea but also in some other parts of the world. One thing that I like more about the series is that it shows the strength and capability of every women to face life and its ups and downs. Different women with different characters were shown in the said series.
Olivia is the mother of Floyd (Karen's husband) and Dorothy. She is a women who believes in a lot of values. She is strict and sometimes funny. She also once have a husband who then fell in love with her sister, Alba. She made life not that easier for Karen and Darlene for she always watched for their actions. Despite of her certain character, she also possesses a good heart for when Darlene was already being battered by Floyd, she tried hard to protect Darlene and keep Floyd from hurting her. She also has great love for her children and reflects the face of a divorced single mother who also tries to help her children even if what happened to her children is the same as the fate that she have had.
Darlene is Floyd's other woman, She is the girl that left her family just to be with Floyd. She left everything including her wealth, children, husband and even her dignity. She was able to show how her love can conquer all just to be with Floyd. At the first part of her relationship with Floyd, she was able to experience happiness for she was able to be with her first love. That happiness did not last for a long time for when Karen met another boy, Floyd felt jealous and wanted Karen back so what Floyd did is to make life hard for Darlene so that she will go back to her family and let him go back to Karen's arms. Darlene suffered being battered by Floyd. She was able to go through a lot of pains but still resisted it for the only thing that she wanted to do with her life is to be with Floyd. She was able to win Olivia's respect and was able to be defended by Floyd's mother during times when the battery that she receives is too much. Her mischievous acts added some humor to the story. She reflects the faces of the woman who still remains faithful to their partners despite of all the bad things that they encounter. She is a martyr.
Karen is Floyd's first husband to whom he bore his child, Tommy. She was a jolly woman who was so hopelessly in love with Floyd at first. She is a hardworking woman who was then battered severely by Floyd during the times when the only person that Floyd thinks of is Darlene and his love for her. She, at first, resisted all the hardships that she is experiencing from Floyd but there came a time when she thought that she have had enough and left Floyd. She then met a guy who promised to love him and was able to give her a life that is goo. The said relationship did not lasted for a long time and her life is back again from the start. She then continued her life and started over with her journey of fulfilling her dreams of being a woman of success. She then represented the face of the women who stands strong after all of the downfalls that they have had in their life. She also represented the face of the women who hold on to their dreams and makes a way in order to reach it.
5. Dorothy
A woman of substance. She is the woman who works hard for the people that she loves. She is the main character and the woman who was able to have a failed relationship with Nelson. After her relationship with Nelson, she thought it was the end of the world for her. She then met Leo who was able to give her the love the she deserve.
